Landmine defused

DERA MURAD JAMALI: A landmine planted at a roadside in Chatter area of the Nasirbad district was defused by the police on Sunday.

According to police, suspected militants had planted the landmine at the roadside in Goth Manzoor Khan Khosa to target security forces and other vehicles. However, the sabotage was averted as local people informed the police when they spotted the explosive device.

Personnel of the police and Frontier Corps cordoned off the area before defusing the landmine.

“Bomb disposal squad personnel defused the landmine,” police said.

Security forces carried out a search in the area and took some suspects into custody.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Dera Allahyar.
