NEW DELHI: India’s leg-spin bowler Karn Sharma has been ruled out of an upcoming limited overs tour of Zimbabwe due to a finger injury.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the announcement on Monday, adding that there will be no replacement for the 27-year-old Karn.

India is sending a second-string squad led by batsman Ajinkya Rahane for the tour of three One-day Internationals and two Twenty20 games, with several frontline players including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin rested.

Karn has played one Test, two ODIs and one T20 international.

The ODIs in Zimbabwe are scheduled for July 10, 12 and 14 while the T20 games are on July 17 and 19, all in Harare.—AP
