OKARA: District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Rana told reporters on Thursday that Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Anwarul Haq refused to hear the petition of Okara lawyers against Okara police when a lawyer called the Basirpur station house officer (SHO) a “wolf”.

He said the petition, lawyer Imran Pasha versus the Okara DPO, seeking a case against Deepalpur police officials, the justice asked him to submit report about a picture showing a lawyer behind bars.

The petitioner says a lawyer was illegally put behind bars in Basirpur police station.

The DPO said that June 30, the Deepalpur assistant superintendent of police appeared before the LHC and rejected the photograph. The court ordered the DPO to appear in person on July 2.

During the proceeding, the DPO said he would hold an inquiry into the picture issue. The judge stopped hearing the case when lawyers repeatedly called the SHO “wolf”.
