Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf visited the hospital on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) (headquarters) Umar Saeed and health department officials were also present.

The CCPO said it was his priority to work for the betterment of policemen and their families by providing them health and education facilities.

He said steps were being taken to upgrade the hospital and provide modern treatment facilities to the injured policemen.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said six specialist doctors, medical officers and emergency staff would be sanctioned for the 42-bed hospital and different wards would be built where general surgeons, gynecologists, orthopedic surgeons, pathologists, and anesthesiologists would be available for police officials and their families.

He said hepatitis and tuberculosis centers would also be established at the hospital.

The DIG said police and health authorities discussed the project and it would take two to three months to complete. Steps had been taken to improve living standards of those who were fighting terrorism and sacrifying their lives, he added.
