CHINIOT: A young man allegedly committed suicide after shooting his wife and daughter at Makki Town on Monday night.

Ghulam Ali, 36, would frequently quarrel with his wife whom he accused of having suspicious activities. They exchanged harsh words over the issue on Monday night after which Ali shot dead his wife and daughter Rubab, 12, in a fit of rage.

Other children Rida Fatima, 10, and Zulqernain, 6, fled the home to save their lives.

Later, Ali shot at himself and a Rescue 1122 team shifted him to the DHQ Hospital, where he died.

The police record revealed that Ali had remained in jail for four years in a ‘blasphemy case’ and was set at liberty three months ago.

Residents of the area said he had some psychological issues and would often quarrel with his family for no obvious reason. The city police registered a case and sent the bodies to the mortuary for autopsy.

ARREST: Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested slain prayer leader Qari Mukhtar Ahmad’s wife in his murder case.

Police said Qari Mukhtar’s wife suspected that he had relations with other women and she hacked him to death after giving him intoxicated milk.

According to the prosecution, Jamil had shot dead Mujahid Ali of Chak 237-JB over some dispute in 2012.
