Hockey camp begins today

LAHORE, Dec 23: The national hockey training camp will begin at the National Hockey Stadium from Monday.

The camp is being set up to finalise and prepare Pakistan team for its participation in the World Cup to be held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in Feb, 2002.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has invited 28 probables for the camp.

Following will attend the camp:

Goalkeepers: Mohammad Qasim, Salman Akbar.

Right-full-back: Sohail Abbas, Ali Raza, Asim Chohan.

Left-full-backs: Tariq Imran, Zeeshan Ashraf, Aamir Saleem.

Right-halves: Mohammad Usman, Irfan Yousaf, Ghazanfar Ali.

Centre-halves: Mohammad Saqlain, Imran Yousaf, Imran Rasool.

Left-halves: Waseem Ahmad, Dilawar Husain.

Outside-rights: Mohammad Nadeem, Rehan Butt.

Inside-rights: Mohammad Sarwar, Mudassar Ali Khan, S Sameer Husain.

Centre-forwards: Kashif Jawad, Atif Bashir.

Inside-lefts: Naveed Iqbal, Saleem Khalid, Shahbaz Ahmad.

Outside-lefts: Mohammad Shabbir, Ali Raza.
