PESHAWAR: The Fata Secretariat has approved an amount of Rs113 million for repair and renovation of the Cadet College, Razmak in North Waziristan Agency.

According to a statement issued here on Saturday, the funds were approved on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan. The governor directed completion of the repair and reconstruction work on the cadet college till July this year in accordance with the approved master plan so that the students, currently housed in Adam Jee Paper Mills at Aman Ghar, Nowshera, could be shifted there.

The statement said the project was a non-ADP scheme, adding that before shifting of students to the college, its damaged portions would be repaired and renovated.

The cadet college was closed in 2012 after the start of the military operation against terrorists. To save precious time of the students the college was later shifted to Nowshera.

According to the statement now when the successful military operation against terrorists has entered its final stage and normalcy is returning to the region, it has been decided that the students be shifted there.

The statement said that the governor had expressed hope that repatriation of all the IDPs would be completed till August 2015 and the reconstruction and rehabilitation would be carried on fast track basis enabling the tribal populations to live with honour in their own lands.
