ISLAMABAD: A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her brother over a domestic issue in the capital’s Taramari area, police said here on Saturday.

The incident came to light when the injured woman was brought to Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) by her family where she died during treatment. As no one from the family lodged a formal complaint for registration of a case, it was registered on behalf of the state on the complaint of the ASI.

The police arrested the alleged killer and recovered the knife from him.

During interrogation the accused told the police that his wife and sister did not have cordial relations and used to quarrel frequently.

The entire family, including the accused, remained disturbed because of the quarrels.

He told the police that on Friday he received a call from his house that his wife and sister had gotten into a brawl again.

He rushed home and found both them scuffling with each other.

The accused further claimed that he succeeded to convince his wife, but his sister started quarreling with him and used foul language against him.

This infuriated him and he brought a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her.

The injured woman was taken to a private hospital from where she was referred to Federal Government Services Hospital where she died, police said.
