LAHORE: The elections of the Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) will be held under the aegis of the Pakstan Olympic Association next month for a four year term of 2015-19, it was announced on Wednesday.

An SFP delegation met POA chief retired Lt Gen Arif Hasan here and it was decided that the polls will be held in July while a chief election commissioner for the same will be appointed soon. Arif, praising the SFP efforts for popularising softball in Pakistan, said the local players are getting good exposure and experience with the many events organised by the softball federation.

“I must commend the SFP efforts and the development and popularity of softball in the country is also getting good coverage internationally in the ISF publications and website which is creditable,” said Arif. “The POA is also keen to support the SFP in all its activities.”

The SFP delegation members included Saleem Khan, Haider Lehri, Asif Azeem, Naseem Khan and Fareed Qureshi. POA secretary Khalid Mahmood was also present on the occasion.
