KARACHI: Former additional secretary for education and current secretary to the governor Akhtar Ghori has been appointed chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) by the provincial government, it emerged on Wednesday.

When contacted, outgoing BIEK chairman Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai confirmed the development citing that he was expected to relinquish the charge by June 20. He said he had heard that his successor would be taking up the new charge while also keeping his job at Governor House that he thought was strange.

This reporter made several attempts to speak to the incoming BIEK chairman without success.
