ISLAMABAD: Dependency on the internet is increasing and by 2017 as many as 4 billion people all over the world will be connected with internet.

CEO for Alcatel-Lucent Pakistan Aadil Rauf said that by 2017 video traffic on the internet will increase by 720pc as 320 million tablets, more than laptops, were sold in year 2014.

Mr Aadil said in Pakistan mobile banking will be introduced soon because thumb verification (biometric) has been done of the mobile SIM holders.

Director Pre-Sales Middle East Fouz Sattar said that although for years copper lines (fixed lines) were used to provide internet connection but now companies have started using fiber optics to provide internet service which is not only much better but there is no issue of data transfer.
