MUZAFFARGARH: Three people were booked for getting educators’ job on fake documents here on Friday.

District Education Officer Mukhtiar Husain said the department had announced vacancies for educators in different categories on Jan 29.

He said the documents submitted by applicants were scrutinised by a special team constituted by DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali and EDO (Education) Shamshair Sial.

He said candidates Ali, Waseem and Mohammad Arshad had submitted their degrees of MA physical education from the University of Sargodha. He said during verification some documents of the three candidates were found bogus.

On the request of the DCO, a case has been registered against the three candidates under sections 420, 468 and 471 of the PPC, he said.

DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali said he had received information that a gang in the district education department was involved in the recruitment of people on fake degrees.

The DCO said he asked the DPO to arrest the people involved in getting jobs on fake documents.

The sources said dozens of recruitments had been made on fake documents during the last five years.

They said when the DCO took action, six lady teachers sent their resignations to the department and also started piling pressure on education officials through politicians.

Accused Mohammad Ali said he did MSc in mass communication as a regular student from the BZU, Multan.

He said in January 2015 Anees and Mughees had asked him to manage Rs200,000 for getting a job of educator.

He said he gave his original documents and national identity card to them and after some days he received a call from the Education department to receive his appointment letter as PET.

“Since I was not the holder of masters degree in physical education I did not receive the appointment letter. When I told Anees and Mughees about it they asked me to wait,” he said.

On Friday, he said the police registered a case against him. He questioned when he neither received an appointment letter nor joined the post then why the FIR was registered against him.

Sources said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali to probe into matter and take action against those involved in recruiting people on fake documents.

BUTCHERS HELD: Three butchers were captured by people and handed them over to police on Friday for slaughtering a donkey at Fatah Shah village, about 35kms from here.

Chowk Qureshi police registered a case against the three butchers and seized the donkey meat.

The arrested butchers said they had bought a donkey for Rs2,000 and would sell its meat for Rs250 per kilo at a local hotel.
