ISLAMABAD: Unseeded players Hamza Bin Asif and Aman Atiq booked their places in the under-18 semi-finals of the Pakistan Tennis Federation Junior Ranking tournament.

In the first quarter-final played at the PTF Complex on Thursday, Hamza outclassed his younger brother Talah Bin Asif 6-4, 6-3.

Whereas, Aman defeated fourth seed Barkatullah Khan in three sets.

Barkat displayed quality game and defeated Aman in the first set 5-7, but he could not maintain his supremacy in the next sets.

Aman made a good comeback, winning the next sets 6-4 and 6-1.

He will face top seed Nofil Kaleem in the semi-final who outclassed Talha Sohail 6-0, 6-1 in a one-sided match.

Hamza will lock horns with the second seed Mohammad Muzamil who beat unseeded Zaid Mujahid 6-4, 6-7, 6-0.

In the boys U-14 first-round matches, Shoaib Khan defeated Jasir Mansoor 6-0, 6-2, Rayyan Suhail overcame Hamidullah 6-0, 6-0 and Hamza Bin Rehman defeated Munib Sajid 6-0, 6-3.

Meanwhile, in U-12 first-round matches, which were being played under Pro-Set format (best of 15) Talha Khan beat Sninghan Mirza 8-1 and Sami Zaib defeated Rayyan Suhail 8-1.
