ISLAMABAD: Robbers, burglars and thieves struck at several places and made off with cash, gold and other valuables, police said here on Friday.In the first incident, burglars broke into the house of Azeem Shahzad, located in Shaeenabad, and made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs150,000.

In another incident, three armed men intercepted a man, Mohammad Imran, and snatched cash and valuables worth Rs33,000 from him near Metro Cash and Carry at I-11/4.

The victim, however, chased him with the help of some passersby and succeeded to catch two of them, while the third managed to escape. The two robbers were handed over to police.

In another incident, two motorcycle riders snatched a purse from a woman in G-11/1. Nabila Imran was intercepted by the motorcyclists who then snatched her purse which contained Rs15,000 and some documents.

Similarly, some persons took away a taxi from its owner from Jhangi Syedan.

The culprits booked his vehicle and on the way offered him something to eat. The driver fell unconscious and then the culprits stole the taxi, leaving behind the driver.

Auto-thieves also stole a car from the parking area of Saudi Pak Tower in Blue Area, a motorbike from outside a house in G-6/1-3 and another bike from the parking area of Ali Plaza in Blue Area.

Meanwhile, eight outlaws were arrested and looted items recovered from them. Industrial Area police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a theft case and recovered valuables worth Rs90,000 from him. Similarly Khanna police arrested a man and seized a 12-bore gun and ammunition from him.

Kohsar police took four women into custody for their illicit activities while Secretariat police found a Kalashnikov in the possession of a man. A drug peddler was arrested from Bhara Kahu area with 250gms hashish in his possession.
