LAHORE: The PAT held a protest demonstration on Friday outside the Punjab Assembly building against a report released by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over the Model Town incident.

Led by PAT central leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the protesters exchanged harsh words with the police when the activists were not allowed to enter the assembly building.

Families of activists who were killed in the police raid on PAT office on June 17, 2014, also joined the protest. They raised slogans against the JIT report terming it influenced by the ruling PML-N to exonerate the accused who had ordered police to fire on the activists.

Gandapur said the JIT had not met demands of justice. He requested the PA speaker to help make public the judicial inquiry held by Justice Ali Baqar Najfi.
