RAWALPINDI, Oct 1: Two sisters were abducted from Gulistan Colony on Tuesday, police said.

Kanwal Riaz, 11, and Sumbal Riaz, 6, were last seen by their neighbours playing outside their house in Lane 3, Gulistan Colony. Mohammad Riaz, the father of the missing girls, lodged a complaint with the Civil Line police, saying he had gone to his office while his wife, who is a housemaid, had also gone for work, leaving the two sisters at home.

When Riaz returned home he found his daughters missing. He suspects that his neighbour, Shah Nawaz, has abducted his daughters as he has also been missing since the incident.

Police officer Bashir Bhatti, who is leading the hunt, said he was hopeful of finding a clue to the missing girls by Wednesday night.

The investigation officer told Dawn that nobody had contacted the girls’ parents and demanded ransom.

MOTORCYCLIST KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in the jurisdiction of Secretariat police station on Wednesday, police said.

Hasnain Ali Shah, a 10th class student, was heading home on his motorbike (IDJ-6117) when a truck (AJK-255) coming from the opposite direction hit him near Tarlai Chowk, killing him on the spot. The truck driver escaped from the scene, the police said.
