TOBA TEK SINGH: Owners of local CNG filling stations announced here on Tuesday staging a protest demonstration on May 7 in Faisalabad against the government for not restoring gas supply to their outlets.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, filling station owners association district president Rana Muhammad Khan and spokesman Haji Ashraf said gas supply was being denied to them for the last six months.

They said because of the suspension of supply the 32 CNG filling stations in the district were facing huge financial losses while 260 people employed by them had been rendered jobless.

They added they had been bearing running costs, including utility bills and expenses incurred on maintenance of machinery since the gas closure.

They added that gas was being supplied to the CNG filling stations in all provinces except Punjab that showed discriminatory attitude of the authorities concerned.

They said all filling station owners and their employees would gather in Faisalabad on May 7 to stage a demonstration protest outside the SNGPL regional office for restoration of gas supply.

MURDERED: A youth allegedly killed his elder brother over a minor dispute at Chak 95 JB near Gojra on Tuesday.

Gojra Sadar police said, the victim, Abdul Qadeer and the suspect, Abdul Shakoor, exchanged harsh words over some issue following which the younger brother shot the elder one. Abdul Qadeer died on the spot.
