QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has sought financial assistance from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for construction of dams as underground water level in the province is fast depleting.

He was speaking to Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden and UNODC representative Cesar Guedes at a dinner he had hosted for them.

The province was facing the challenges of poverty, backwardness and water shortage which cannot be tackled without the monetary cooperation of donors, he said.
