HYDERABAD, Sept 29: The Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz has demanded the immediate release of Abdul Fatah Janwari, a leader of the Sindh Research and Development Forum, who was arrested on Sept 26 from a hunger strike camp in Karachi due to mistaken identity.

Speaking at a news conference at the local press club on Monday, the central general-secretary of the Mahaz, Asghar Shah, and information secretary Sarang Bhatti said Abdul Fatah Janwari was arrested by law enforcement agencies during a hunger strike to protest against the greater Thal canal and Kalabagh dam.

They claimed that the agencies had come to arrest JSMM chairman Shafi Mohammad Burfat but took away Abdul Fatah Janwari as he was a look-alike of Mr Burfat, and were holding him incommunicado ever since.
