ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) on Monday appointed former two-time World Cup winning captain, Abdul Razzaq as coach of national team.

Syed Sultan Shah, PBCC chairman, has appointed Razzaq as coach of Pakistan Blind Cricket team till the Twenty20 World Cup to be played in India in November 2016, says a press release issued here.

Razzaq’s first and immediate assignment is to prepare the team for forthcoming Asia Cup Twenty20 Blind Cricket in May.

Razzaq holds a Masters degree in history from the Punjab University and now works as a teacher in special education.

He was awarded with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan in August, 2011.

Razzaq also holds the record to hit fastest fifty on 17 balls in the ODI played against Australia in Delhi, India in 1998.
