LAHORE: A six-goal show by in-form Shah Shamyl Alam steered Rijas to the Bronze Cup Polo final as they defeated Hala Bhai Chaury 7-5 here on Saturday.

Shamyl fired back-to-back goals in the first chukker, scoring on a 30-yard penalty-hit and then making it 2-0 through a field effort.

Rijas in the second chukker forged ahead 4-0 as Shamyl struck one more goal, while his team-mate Faisal Shahzad pumped in his first goal.

In the third chukker, Shamyl, maintaining his superb form registered three more goals to make it 7-2 as the losing team made their presence felt with a brace of goals. Taimur Ali Malik and Hassan Ali Farrukh chipped in a goal each.

The fourth and final chukker saw a splendid comeback from the losers who added three goals without conceding any as Taimur (two) and Hassan (one) reduced the deficit to 7-5.
