LAHORE, Sept 26: Police on Friday took Nagina Khanum’s son Nawaz Khan into custody besides arresting three men from Peshawar.

Nagina, her 30-year-old daughter Ambar, a cousin Chanda, 42, a relative and Puhsto film director Nasir Khan, 48, her two grandsons, Imran, 12, and Kamran, 16, driver Hayat, 28, and housemaid Sonia, 18, were shot dead at her house in Allama Iqbal Town on Wednesday.

Three men arrested from Peshawar, Ayaz Khan, Ayub Khan and Siam Khan, are reportedly the relatives of the girl who was brought to Lahore by Nagina a couple months ago and was forced into prostitution.

The girl was said to be a bone of contention between her family and the actress.

A police official told Dawn that Nawaz was taken into custody to interrogate him on lines that he had a dispute with his mother on family issues. Nawaz was in Murree when the incident took place. The police had already taken six other people, including Nagina’s other son Ali, into custody for interrogation.

Sources said the police were also tracing a clue to four people who came from Islamabad on a Pajaro early Wednesday and visited Nagina’s house.
