LAHORE: Police Inspector General (IG) Mushtaq Sukhera on Wednesday reviewed progress in establishment of Computerised Complaint Handling Centres (CHCs) and finalisation of operational strategy and posting of civilian staff at 10 police stations in the city.

According to a police spokesperson, a meeting was held at the Central Police Office during which Capital City Police Officer Amin Wains said training of civilian staff for the CHCs had been completed. He said police stations in Gulberg, Baghbanpura, North Cantonment, South Cantonment, Mustafabad, Model Town, Sarwar Road, and Defence A, B and C would initiate the pilot project.

He also said 22 vehicles, 108 motorcycles, 76 wireless sets and 34 barriers were being provided to the CHCs that would work in two shifts. Admin officers would assist staff at the centres.

He said the CHCs would be responsible for ensuring lodging of first information reports along with the provision of computerised slips with details about the investigation officer for future reference.

Deputy Inspector General Dr Haider Ashraf said the operational capacity of the police stations housing these centres would be enhanced and 10 inspectors, 58 sub-inspectors, 110 assistant sub-inspectors, 151 head constables, 801 constables and 12 foot constables provided as additional staff.

It was also decided in the meeting that an officer of a superintendent of police rank would look after administrative matters of the staff at CHCs.

Reshuffled: The Punjab government on Wednesday transferred and posted some officials.

The services of Military Land and Cantonment Group’s BS-20 officer Aftab Ahmad Asif were handed over to the Punjab Revenue Authority on deputation.

Rawalpindi ACE Director Zulfikar Ahmad was made an OSD. He was replaced by Rawalpindi EDO (Community Development) Asad Naeem.

Awaiting posting Khalid Saleemi was posted as Punjab Employees Social Security Institute vice commissioner.

S&GAD’s Additional Secretary (Procurement) Ali Jan Khan was transferred and made an OSD. Additional charge of the post was given to S&GAD’s Additional Secretary Welfare Muhammad Khan Ranjha.
