LAHORE: Seventeen matches were decided, including 13 in the men’s singles and rest in the boys U-12, on the opening day of the Servis Punjab Open Tennis Championships at the Bagh-e-Jinnah grass courts here on Tuesday.

All the matches were decided in straight sets as the winners toppled their respective rivals with ease.

In the first match, Mohammad Abid outclassed Sadiq Cheema without dropping a point 6-0, 6-0. Sikander Hayat, Faizan Khurram and Heera Aashiq also won their matches without conceding any point.

The U-12 boys’ event matches were one-off set affairs.

Boys U-12:

Ahmed Yousuf bt Sufyan Adil 8-2; Abdul Hannan Khan bt Mustafa 8-1; Mohammad Zaryab Khan bt Maha Said 8-5; Hamza Jawad bt Bilal Asim 8-1.
