Nazim shocked over Karachi’s exclusion

KARACHI, Sept 25: Karachi City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has expressed his shock and disappointment over Karachi being dropped as venue for the Test and One-day International against South Africa.

“Karachi the premier centre of the country is being denied an international circuit” he said in a press statement issued on Thursday.

He said Karachi successfully hosted a Test match and One-day International against Bangladesh at National Stadium and several foreign players featured in the Chief of Naval Staff Squash Championship held here from Sept 14 to 22.

He demanded of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reconsider its decision and ask South African team to play at least one ODI in Karachi.

It may mentioned here that South African were schedule to play a One-day International on Sept 26 and third and final cricket Test (Sept 23-27) but canceled the tour to Pakistan because of security fears in Karachi and Peshawar.
