MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Nargis Bibi has said that she would take up the issue of New Balakot City (NBC) project with the chief minister so that work on it could start without delay.

“It is unfortunate that NBC mega housing project initiated in 2007 for survivors of 2005 earthquake couldn’t be completed even after eight years of its launching. I would take up the issue with CM for early completion of the project,” she said while speaking at a party meeting in Balakot on Tuesday.

Ms Bibi said that the housing project would never be scraped, and asked the people, who have already received money of their land, houses and even trees, to vacate the lands for smooth execution of the project.

“Chief Minister Pervez Khattak wants to address the core issues faced by people of Balakot following the devastating earthquake, and soon the issue of housing project would be addressed,” assured Ms Bibi.

Local PTI office-bearers also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the problems faced by the Balakot people. They sought Imran Khan’s help for solution to the problems.

Meanwhile, a woman allegedly killed her two-year-old son in Oghi in the early hours on Tuesday.

The police quoting Abdul Qayyum, father-in-law of the suspect, Nagina Bibi, said that the woman locked herself and her son in a room and stabbed her little son to death. He said that when they broke open the door after hearing cries of the child they found Nagina standing beside the body holding a blood-stained dagger.
