PML-N wins by-poll

SHEIKHUPURA: PML-N candidate Dr Shizra Mansab Ali won the NA-137 (Nankana) by-poll on Sunday.

According to unofficial results, Shizra bagged 70,890 votes while her rival, independent candidate Brig (retd) Ijaz Shah, secured 39,600 votes.

Former head of the Intelligence Bureau, Shah was supported by PTI.

PPP-backed Rai Shah Jehan Ahmed Khan Bhatti secured 17,000 votes. The turnout was 50 per cent.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of PML-N MNA Rai Mansab Ali Kharal. The ‘N’ leadership awarded the ticket to his daughter.
