HYDERABAD: Ghulamullah Chang and Mumtaz Leghari were declared elected as president and vice president, respectively, in the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) Hyderabad chapter election held on Saturday evening.

Ayaz Tunio has already returned unopposed as the general secretary while Ishrat Lohar was declared elected as the joint secretary.

Tariq Shah and Taj Keerio, were declared elected as the library secretary and treasurer, respectively.

The voters also elected a seven member managing committee. The names of winners announced by the election commission were Naseem Abbasi, Nasira Sheikh, Sajid Rind, Bhagwandas Bheel, Kifayat Laskani, Mazhar Ali Leghari and Bashir Almani.

LARKANA: In the Larkana District Bar Association election, the Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF) suffered a setback when it lost the key post of general secretary to Rashid Mustafa Solangi of the Sindh Dost Panel who defeated his rival, Kalpna Devi, by a wide margin, according to unofficial results.

PLF candidate Inayatullah Morio also defeated Babu Sarfraz Jatoi, a pro-PML-N candidate, by just one vote for the slot of president. Akbar Ali Dahar was declared elected as the vice president while other PLF candidates Irfan Khichi, Imdad Mashori and Zafar Malgani were declared elected for the posts of joint secretary, library secretary and treasurer, respectively.
