MQM's criticism of army and Rangers unacceptable: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali on Saturday lashed out at Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) for what he said was use of “inappropriate language” with regards to the Pakistan Army and Rangers.
Nisar said MQM had in the past acknowledged army’s and Rangers’ sacrifices in combating terrorism in the country, adding that the party’s condemnation of the army and Rangers following the Nine Zero raid was unacceptable.
The federal interior minister went on to say that the MQM had itself appealed for an army-backed operation in Karachi. “Altaf Hussain and other MQM leaders have time and again insisted that the army be used to wipe the city clean from target killers and terrorists,” he said.
“If the party now has issues with the operation, it should take them to court instead of condemning its own country's army,” Nisar said. “Is using such language against your own army acceptable?”
Since the raid at Nine Zero on Wednesday, MQM has held several press conferences, clarifying its stance and trying to steer the party clear of allegations levied on it.

The party has maintained that the weapons seized at its headquarters were licensed and were meant for security purposes only, in the face of imminent threats. MQM leader Farooq Sattar had rebuffed claims of confrontation with any law enforcement agency, including Rangers, on Thursday.
Sattar also alleged that MQM worker, Waqas Ali Shah, who was killed during the raid on Wednesday, was shot by Rangers personnel.
Rangers have so far presented dozens of individuals picked up from Nine Zero and adjoining areas in anti-terrorism courts, many of whom have been detained for a 90-day remand.
Meanwhile, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said on Saturday that his party was being deliberately maligned and targeted, while other criminals roamed free.
He asserted that false statements were being coerced out of those arrested, after a press release by Rangers said MQM worker Umair Siddiqui confessed that the party was responsible for the Baldia factory arson.

We fully back Pak Army and Rangers taking action against criminals and those involved in any kind of terrorism. Lets not forget Altaf Bhai's demands calling for Army operation in Karachi just in the recent past. Now MQM should not sympathize with murderers and people convicted in murder cases arrested from 90.

Good now that rangers have inroads at 90. Now move on for operation cleanup in and around PML-N and PPP strongholds. Before we do that, lets clean up LAL-Masjid, Akora Khatak, and all other religious seminaries, Madrasahs and mosques.... Please do not listen and stop for anyone until all goals are achieved.

Both of them MQM and Rangers have to show some maturity. In the past, Rangers have been wrong many times and it was proven in the courts. On the other hand, MQM has to do some soul searching and explaining about why they are associated with these criminals. MQM and Rangers have to come up with some type of interface that will allow Rangers to continue capture and prosecute any criminals associated with the party as well as not damaging the party’s dignity and stature. MQM has lot of decent and talented people and Pakistan really need them.

Chd. Nisar is unacceptable as Int. Min. He let Lakhvi almost go free.
Due to his negligence in properly prosecuting . Lakhvi was almost set
free until Punjab Inerior Ministry stepped in. Nisar is incompetent.
When an 80 year woman is put in jail as a terrorist simply because
she is the widowed sister of Altaf Hussain then NISAR IS WRONG.

@Muhammad Shoaib ransacked a house of a widow sister who is 70 years old, what crime could she have possibly committed. AH has every right to condemn the brutality of rangers who have killed innocent Sarfraz by firing at him in broad daylight.

Ch Nisar statement is right,but if we check statements by different political parties in history almost all have to some extent said unpleasant statements,so different times,different statements,are read & heard by innocent silent majority .The people of Pakistan only desire for peace,perfect law & order situation,and as a matter of fact people are not interested in politics,which the politicians have themselves made very complex and confusing,and very expensive.

Why the alleged killers of Imran Farooq are not being handed over to British Police.Allegedly PPP govt whisked them away from Karachi airport but now why PML govt hiding them ,presuming that they are still alive.If alive then are they being held back to blackmail MQM leadership?PML govt should come clean on this issue.

Why is every institution of the country so scared and averse to criticism? The army is afraid of being criticized or insulted, the judiciary keeps issuing contempt of court notices and the drop of a hat, the rangers get bent out of shape if someone breaks wind near them - is the whole country run by kids?

Give Karachi's control to Karachiites and all this mess will go away. Anarchy happens when people and powers from outside try to control cities or countries as occupied colonies. MQM has many faults and it has become a fascist party, but it is the only way for Karachiites to breath out their frustration. If Karachiites are given their due rights to have their own voted rulers then over the period of time they will phase MQM or any other non performing parties out of the assemblies as they are the MOST educated and un biased lot in the country. Even in this forum, it's clearly evident that folks from other parts of Pakistan have more hatred and more say about MQM then Karachiites. Let there be even policy against MQM, ANP, and any other parties and let the locals (irrespective of ethnicity) rule Karachi, then only peace will be achieved not only in Karachi, but other parts of troubled Pakistan.

Rangers are not above the Law and their word is not the word of God. I do not agree with Police or Rangers making public statements alleging MQM for every serious crimes after obtaining a statement from someone in custody by beating or bribing him. You just cannot point finger at any individual or a party unless you have very reliable evidence or it is proven in a Court.
A young MQM worker was shot dead in the presence of dozens of Rangers and they did not arrest or identify the killer, it sounds very strange.
Hand me over Zulfiqar Mirza for 24 hours, I will get a confession from him that Saulat Mirza is his son and he was involved with Zardari in the killing of Benazir Bhutto.

If the Rangers want to be respected then they should also show some respect for the citizens of Karachi. If they swear at women and blindfold the prisoners then they will also get the same treatment.

After many tormenting administrative changes in both Egypt and Ukraine it finally dawned upon the people that the problem lay not in any government and could not be ameliorated by changing governments as was being done in democracies with the help of political parties the world over. But rather the problem lay in the structure of the police in all communities everywhere. All policing ought to be community oriented only, that is, non-community people must never be forced to go around policing communities they do not belong to.

Army is great force for the safety and security of Pakistan. Democratic political parties should not take actions against other democratic party for revenge. This is the time for honest leaders to think for masses and for the future of own kids. Leaders want to leave bad society or gentle for the prosperity of own kids and kids of masses. If one is unsafe other will be also in troubles. Make this country good for all, try to make a welfare state.

One thing I will say that we cannot speak from two corners of our mouth. We turned a blind eye the ex-Citibank employee now a Defense Minister who himself had said stuff about Rangers and Army yet a goon in London is doing the same and going noticed. This is total hypocrisy and even criminals have fair rights.
