KHAIRPUR, Sept 23: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz and Korai tribesmen observed a token hunger strike here on Tuesday to demand early arrest of the police officials involved in the murder of Rashid Hussain Korai.

Speaking on the occasion, JSQM chairman Basheer Khan Qureshi said the police had arrested a number of suspects but the police officials named in the FIR had not been arrested.

He maintained that there were separate laws for the poor people and the police officials which spoke of double standards.

DPO Fateh Sheer Joyo said the police were not involved in the murder of Rashid Hussain and an enquiry in this regard was under way, therefore, the hunger strike was uncalled for.
