Local-made film Zinda Bhaag has been released on Netflix, one of the largest providers of on-demand online films in the United States.

Zinda Bhaag is about three young men trying to escape the reality of their everyday lives, ultimately landing on the idea of illegal immigration. Produced by Mazhar Zaidi and directed by Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi, the film bagged 14 international awards in less then two years — its most recent accolade being the 'youth jury' award at the Festival du Film d'Asie du Sud Transgressif (FFAST) in Paris in February 2015.

The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Amna Ilyas, Khurram Patras, Salman Ahmad Khan and Zohib.

Mazhar Zaidi has said there was tremendous demand for the film by online subscribers to the service and that "at every screening in the US we were asked when it'll be available in the US". Directors Meenu and Farjad said: "Getting on Netflix ensures that we will reach a wider audience for the film". Zinda Bhaag was also theatrically released in the USA in twelve cities.
