LAHORE: Two goals each by Sohail Anjum and Aleem Bilal helped Faisalabad down Lahore 6-3 in the NBP preliminary round PHF U-25 Inter-region Hockey Championship final here on Tuesday.

Lahore took the lead first when Awais-ur-Rehman sounded the board on a field attempt in the 11th minute. Sohail restored parity with his first goal in the 27th converting a penalty-corner.

Playing attacking hockey, Faisalabad then forged ahead 4-1 as Aleem (29th), Sohail (36th) and Ejaz Ahmed (38th) struck goals. Lahore reduced the lead to 4-2 in the 39th when Mateen capitalised on a penalty-corner.

Faisalabad however remained on the offensive, increasing the lead to 6-2 with Mohammad Ayub (52nd) and Aleem (54th) scoring goals. Mohammad Sohaib (55th) added a consolation goal.
