KARACHI: A splendid century stand between Pakistan batsman Fawad Alam and Ahmed Iqbal helped Al-Noor Gymkhana qualify for the semi-finals of the KCCA President Cup here o Tuesday.

Al-Noor Gymkhana comfortably eased past Tapal CC by 107 runs in the third quarter-final played at the TMC Ground.

Batting first, Al-Noor Gymkhana posted 253-8 in 45 overs after Fawad (69 off 71 balls with five boundaries) and Ahmed (run-a-ball 91, 10 fours) had put on 134 for the fourth wicket.

Tapal CC, in their chase, were dismissed for 146 in 38 overs with Amit Ravi fighting it out in a defiant knock of 66 that included three sixes and four boundaries.

Ahmed Iqbal completed a superb all-round game by grabbing four wickets for 22 runs with his left-arm spin.

The remaining quarter-final is scheduled for Thursday between Airport Gymkhana and Landhi Friends at the TMC Ground.
