KARACHI: All together 16 pugilists of Lyari representing different outfits stormed into finals of the All-Sindh Boxing Championship on the penultimate day of the three-day event at the Peoples Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Talented boxers of Lyari I showed their prowess earning the lion’s share with seven spots and was jointly followed by Lyari 2 and Karachi who grabbed four places apiece while Lyari 3 also had one representation.

The remaining four places in the finals were secured by Mirpurkhas (2), Hyderabad and Sukkur one apiece.

The Balochistan Boxing Association president Mohammad Sadiq Achakzai, who was guest of honour, witnessed some of the bouts.

The event concludes on Wednesday.

Semi-finals:

49 kg: Shehroz Kachi (Lyari I) bt Noman (Mirpurkhas) 3-0; Jehanzeb (Lyari 2) bt Ali Raza (Hyderabad) 3-0. 52 kg: Badshah Khan (Lyari I) bt Tanveer Khan (Karachi) 3-0; Mohammad Amjad (Mirpurkhas) bt Mohammad Yaseen (Lyari 2) 2-1.

56 kg: Shehryar Kachi (Lyari I) bt Shahid Rahim (Lyari 2) 2-1; Faizan Butt (Karachi) bt Mehrab Ali (Larkana) 2-1.

60 kg: Mohammad Bilal (Hyderabad) bt Mohammad Fahran (Mirpurkhas) 2-1; Abdul Razzaq (Lyari 2) bt Mohammad Ehsan (Lyari 3) 2-1.

64 kg: Naqibullah (Karachi) bt Imran Meherbux (Lyari I) 2-1; Munawwar Hussain (Mirpurkhas) bt Shahid Hussain (Lyari 2) 2-1.

69 kg: Khalil Asghar (Lyari 3) bt Shehroz Baloch (Hyderabad) 3-0; Adil Khan (Karachi) bt Mohammad Zeeshan (Sukkur) 3-0.

75 kg: Jawaid Akhtar (Lyari 3) bt Abdul Nasir (Sukkur) 3-0; Wali Khan (Lyari I) bt Hasnain Ahmed (Lyari 2) 3-0. 81 kg: Mohsin (Lyari I) bt Iqbal Hussain (Karachi) 3-0; Naveed (Larkana) bt Zahid Umer (Karachi) 2-1.

91 kg: Abijozi Khan (Lyari I) bt Asghar Ali (Mirpurkhas) 3-0; Mustafa (Lyari 2) bt Muneeb Shah (Lyari I) 3-0.

Plus 91 kg: Yasir Jamil (Sukkur) bt Allahbux (Mirpurkhas) 2-1; Ehsanullah (Lyari 2) bt Faizan Ali Khan (Hyderabad) 2-1.
