Chinese envoy brushes off reports calling Jinping's Pakistan visit unlikely

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has brushed aside Indian media reports which said that Chinese President Xi Jinping may not visit Pakistan next month and said a formal announcement of this visit is yet to be made.
A report published on Indian news website NDTV quoted officials as saying that Jinping is unlikely to visit Pakistan next month to be the chief guest at the Pakistan Day military parade.
Chinese officials said it is difficult as he is tied up with over a fortnight-long session of the Chinese parliament, the National People's Congress (NPC).
Talking to Dawn at the Presidency where he came to attend a presidential reception in honour of visiting Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the envoy said, "Chinese President would visit Pakistan this year at an early date which is still being worked out."
He termed Indian media reports as rumours and said there is no authenticity.
Responding to a question about the Pak-China economic corridor project, the envoy emphasised for early completion of this project so that its dividends could reach people of both countries.
Last week, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit to hold bilateral talks, promote economic and trade cooperation and discuss the regional situation with the Pakistani leadership.
The Chinese foreign minister had also informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that the purpose of his visit is to prepare for President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan.

But i have not read any such reports in India saysing that, the Chinese Premier may not visit Paksitan. Whether he visits Pakistan or not, it is his prerogative. I dont konw why india has to be brought into some imaginary report and also comment on it.

Well Pakistanis and Pakistan is Happy either Chinese President visit or not. For us His security is more important and If his visit get cancelled we wont be disappointed at all but yes we will if there will be any security threat for him here IN Pakistan, So Indians trolls who are expected any time here with their bashing chill karo.

Date of Pakistan Day military parade is fixed but date of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan is NOT fixed.
I think Pakistan will arrange their Pakistan day on the same day whenever the Chinese President may (still there is a hope) visit.

The Pakistanis commenting here don't seem to know the Chinese people.
Further, China is a socialist nation and their leaders' most important priority is providing jobs for their people. It may not look that way to you but every nation battles corruption. There are not greedy Chinese, there are greedy people.
I wonder if readers here understand the term "friend of China"?

Where did the Indian media go wrong? Xi's visit is being planned anytime this year and NDTV claimed that it is unlikely for the Chinese premier to make it during Pakistan Day which is just a few weeks ahead.

Another Indian attempt to undermine Pakistan progress and showing saw grapes attitude Indian side feels on this trip, Pakistan day or not on Pakistan day, visit will be executed I am sure and it will rub on salt on Indian skins/wounds. It just shows how much they are concerned or feel uncomfortable on any development on Pakistan side as we are there competitors, we are not, just a good neighbor, something India yet to prove. Every incident or action from Pakistan side is reaction to Indian actions. Pakistan though not so good at playing cheap ordinary acts like India does which should change. India blames then back tracks. I don't remember Pakistan media spreading any such hoax at Obama trip to India. hope Dawn publishes these comments, they tend to ignore me lately and I wouldn't be wrong in saying I feel they have more pleasing attitude towards Indian readers rather then to own countrymen, shameful!!!

president XI shall certainly visit Pakistan as huge Chinese interests political , strategic, economic all over Pakistan are at stake .Now with China - Pakistan -Afghanistan strategic triangle taking shape with massive Chinese interests and leadership role in the region for its rich mineral deposits and access to deep water port in south, It is hardly surprising that China could consider the Pakistan/ Afghanistan as another Chinese province suitably called all weather friends.

@shezad As an Indian I can tell you, this visit does not engage us. Only ONE media report talks about this visit. We wish the Chinese President visits Pakistan as he has done in the past. It is of no concern to Indians he has already visited India. India does not control his movements as Pakistan does not control President Obama's visits. There is no room for rivalry here.

Only for Pakistan, Xi's visit is a fitting reply to Obama's visit to India, nobody else thinks that way unfortunately. Its like saying, let me at least have a consolation prize, if not the winners prize, but with that getting into jeopardy, Pakistan is getting overly and unnecessarily anxious.
