BAHAWALPUR, Sept 20: Yazman police claimed to have arrested four of the seven alleged rapists of three girls of Chak 55/DB near Yazman.

Asif and Shafiq were arrested soon after the complaint was lodged with the Yazman police while Adnan and Amin were reported arrested on Saturday. Accused Sohail, stated to be the ring leader, was granted bail before arrest up to November 1 by the additional district and sessions judge, while Raashid and Tariq are still at large.

Meanwhile, the three victims namely Hardwari Ram, Bhoorti Ram and Serki Ram were examined at the Yazman THQ hospital. The lady doctor said after examination that the incident took place about a week ago. Final report would be given after receiving chemical examiner’s report, she added.

It is learnt that some influentials and politicians of the area are politicizing the issue. A number of factions are supporting both the complainants and the accused.

Minority leaders claimed that the elements politicizing the case were out to gain popularity.

Meanwhile, Yazman ASP said the case would be investigated thoroughly.
