Policemen not paid salary

Published September 21, 2003

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 20: Hundreds of policemen of the district have not received salaries for August as cashier Ghulam Rasool Hingoro has gone missing.

Police sources said the cashier was missing after alleged misappropriation of police funds.

He had gone missing after disbursing salaries of some of the staff on Sept 2.

When the police officers checked the records, a difference of Rs240,000 was detected.

Due to the absence of the cashier, hundreds of police personnel ranging from constables to sub-inspectors are yet to receive their salaries for the last month. No case has been registered against the cashier.—BoC
