LAHORE: The Faiz Amn Committee is organising a two-day Faiz Mela to mark the 104th birth anniversary of Faiz Ahmed Faiz which falls on Feb 13 (today).

A seminar titled ‘Faiz, Class Struggle and Religious Extremism’ will be held here on Saturday. Awami Workers Party chief Abid Hasan Manto, Dr Ali Hashmi (grandson of Faiz), Taimur Rehman, singer Jawwad Ahmed and Nighat Saeed Khan will be the speakers.

On Sunday, a drama, an all-Pakistan mushaira, and a music show featuring Lal Band, Adeel Burki, Jawwad Ahmed, Nida Faiz and Arif Lohar will be organised at wOpen Air Theatre.

The mela (festival) is regularly organised each year since the death of Faiz Ahmed Faiz in 1984.
