LJUBLJANA: Police in Slovenia responded to a call from a man stuck in the door of a house on Thursday, only to discover he was a burglar.

The man sent the SOS after his leg became trapped while he was trying to break into a house in the northern town of Radovljica, police said in a statement.

“Police agents found that the man who had called for help had jumped over a fence and tried to break into a house,” they said.

“When he tried to sneak through the gap in the door, his leg was trapped and he could not release it by himself”. The hapless thief had to wait to be rescued by police — who promptly detained him before handing him over to prosecutors to face robbery charges.
