LAHORE, Sept 19: Pakistan has announced a 14-member team to play against South Africa for Shoaib Muhammad Benefit match to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi on Sept 24.

South Africa is touring Pakistan from Sept 22 to play three Test and as many one-dayers. PCB has not yet named Pakistan’s captain for the South African series. Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis have also been included in the team alongwith Moin Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Shahid Afridi, Azhar Mahmood and Salim Elahi.

Wasim, who had called it a day after the World Cup-2003, would be an added attraction for the spectators.

Waqar, who led Pakistan team in the World Cup which failed to qualify for the second stage has not announced his retirement.

He will have a chance to prove his match-fitness to the anxious selectors after the new-look  Pakistan  team’s lacklustre performance against minnows Bangladesh.

Team: Shahid Afridi, Salim Elahi, Imran Nazir, Naveed Latif, Misbah-ul- Haq, Azhar Mahmood, Moin Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Bilal Asad, Saeed bin Nasir, Wahab Riaz.
