QUETTA: Armed men kidnapped two engineers and four other employees of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) from Gawal area of Zhob district on Friday.

According to officials, Divisional Engineer Haji Asadullah and Sub-Divisional Officer Muhammad Naeem were going to Gawal Ismailzai along with four other employees to repair a PTCL booster when gunmen intercepted their vehicle and took them away.

“The Pakistan Telecommunication Company employees have been missing since afternoon and have not reached the booster till late in the night,” a Levies official said.

“Levies and Frontier Constadulary troops have launched a search operation to trace the kidnapped people,” he said.

At least nine people, including government employees and medical college students, were kidnapped from the same area last month.

Kidnappers had shot dead an air force official, Liaquat Ali Khan, and dumped his body on a highway in Qila Saifullah.

The victim, belonging to Dera Ismail Khan, had been kidnapped while coming to Quetta from Islamabad.
