LARKANA: Five protesters arrested

LARKANA, Sept 19: The police on Thursday arrested five men and a woman for attempting suicide.

Malookan Chandio, her two sons, Masood and Saoud, Ghulam Serwar Kori and Zameer Chandio were picked up from the Jinnah Bagh.

The woman tried to put herself on fire against occupation of her house by a Nazim.

As soon as she sprinkled kerosene on her to commit self-immolation bystanders and policemen rescued her.

The police also restored to baton charge to disperse the protesters.

29 booked: The Taluka Nazim Mirokhan has registered an FIR against 29 persons for allegedly occupying his office, damaging office furniture and tearing office record on Thursday.

Those booked included Qamaruddain Gopang, Noor Jatoi, Dr Sattar, Ishrat Shah, Dhingano Khan and others.

Woman killed: A woman, Malookan alias Hooran Mahar, 28, was killed by her husband — Nazar Hussain Mahar — in Drib Jaro village in the limits of Kambar police station on Thursday.

The cause behind the murder was said to be Karo-kari.
