Army chief meets US RSM commander at GHQ

RAWALPINDI: General John F. Campbell, Commander Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces - Afghanistan called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday at General Headquarters, said an ISPR press release.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and regional security with particular emphasis on coordination along Pak-Afghan border were discussed.

Campbell had last met the COAS in December when he and Afghan National Army (ANA) General Sher Mohammad Karimi had reaffirmed their commitment to eliminate sanctuaries of Pakistani militants on Afghan soil.

Their previous meeting had taken place after the terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar.

Gen Raheel Sharif visited Kabul in the aftermath of Peshawar school carnage to demand action against hideouts of Pakistani militants in Kunar and other areas.

RAW activity in Afghanistan has been curtailed by US and Afghan armies. This meeting was to finish off the rest remaining. Obama let Modi know, in no uncertain terms, to stop exporting terrorism to Pakistan.

@Zak Hope they finish off all RAW agents and acitivities in AF/Pak and Pakistan has no more chance to complain about an Indian hand in any future terrorist activities in Pakistan.

Gen Raheel is doing well, it seems he is now COAS (chief of all stuff). Visiting U.S , China , meetings with civilians as well as military leaderships of these countries. promoting sports in Pakistan. And a lot of other stuff.

@mortimer Really Indians desire so? If true then this change in thinking is the most positive effect of Obama's visit to India. Hope with interaction with world leaders Modi can change his street fighter style and will become mature leader of a country, desirous of becoming Super Power (mini). If India does not stop supporting terrorists activities in Pakistan, it may force similar activities in India resulting in stand off or firing on the borders which will severely effect Modi's development plans. Modi is playing with fire which is harmful for India more than Pakistan.
