ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that peace in South Asia is linked to restoration of good relations between Pakistan and India, which, he added, was not possible without resolving the Kashmir issue.
Addressing a seminar held in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day here on Sunday, he said Kashmiris had been rendering sacrifices for the right to self-determination and Pakistan stood with them for resolving the issue as per their aspirations.

Maulana Fazl, who heads his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, criticised the international community for its discriminatory attitude towards the Kashmir dispute.
He said India had been refusing to implement the resolutions adopted by the United Nations Security Council on the issue of Kashmir, even though the whole world recognised it as a dispute.
In his address, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid said Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self-determination.
He said that settlement of Kashmir dispute was imperative for durable peace in South Asia because it would bring prosperity to the region and its people would get rid of illiteracy and poverty.
He asked the government in New Delhi to fulfil its promise of holding referendum in India-held Kashmir, adding that without doing so India would not be able to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council
Muslim Conference President Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said the Kashmir freedom movement had entered a new phase after elections in India.
“We believe in dialogue to resolve the issue.”

Maulana Fazl is smart and knows that the only key for Pakistan's development is simple resolution of Kashmir problem. Every other problem just vanishes away into thin air. Great Singer.

Time to wake up.
Read the contents of theThe UNO resolution regadring J & K..It clearly demands Pakistan to vacate the land occupied (the so called Azad Kashmire), Either Maulana Sashib is ignorant of the corret history of Pakistani misdeeds of 1947-48 OR he(like other Pakistani politicians)is misleading his unfortunate people.
Please ask your government to vecate the land before you start any thig new.

You can stay put there with Kashmir issue, India will prosper and become super power by 2050. You like it or not India, USA, UK will be alligned in a way together for all world affairs.
Choose path of peace , prosperity or go in never-return path down down ., where coming out would be impossible.

On an another note. Kashmir is better off not being part of Pakistan, look at how we treat ourselves already. Kashmir is better off being an Independent nation.

We keep saying that restoration of good relations between Pakistan and India, is not possible without resolving the Kashmir issue. ...India has gone decades ahead of us in development and prosperity.
Time has come for us to stop talking about things that are no more relevant. Otherwise we will loose the remaining parts of Pakistan (Eg: Balochistan)

Work on your self reliance ...at least learn a few things from your so called enemy India or all weather friend China..work selfishly in interest of Pakistan prosperity... Kashmir is an Integral part of India. Legislative assembly of the Kashmir passed the resolution about it. Kashmiri people will never go with Pakistan because they are seeing where Pakistan is heading now.

Yes no doubt Kashmir is important, but getting rid of Mullah's who sells the religion and use it as a commodity is more important than Kashmir.

This is not the last time we are going to hear Pak politicians and the so called defence analyst rachet up Kashmir issue. Infact, guarunteed to be raised again at the sept UN heads of state meeting in 2015. It is high time India starts bringing up the PoB(Pakistan Occupied Balochistan) issue in an UN forum and call for an UN resolution. This will be a best counter weight to Pakistan trying to internationlize the kashmir issue.

Kashmir issue was settled at Shimla Conference in 1972 when Bhutto accepted Indira Gandhi's offer ans said he needed time to disclose it to his people. The issue cannot be reopened and settled again.In any case Pakistan is in no position to dictate terms to India who has gone too far ahead and is not bothered about Pakistan.

Time to think... East india company came to this region as this was prosperous and self sufficient... Now our(india and pakistan) export is less than imports... We are totally dependent on west.... And sticking to just one issue is the reason for it... Our countries have most young and working population... We work 12-16 hrs a day and still our countries beg to west, china or others for support.... What are we doing wrong??? Our land gets sun and water... We are not greedy ppeople... People in India and pakistan are happy in little... Contented people... Then why no peace???
I would say stop blaming everything on kashmir.... its integral part of India and will remain so...
