LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the nation will have to win the war against terrorism for the survival of future generations.
Addressing the passing out parade of the first batch of Counter-Terrorism Force (CTF) at the Elite Police Training School, Bedian, on Saturday, he said: “It is our responsibility to rid the nation of terrorism. We have to win the war against terrorism at any cost for the survival of our economy and future generations.”
Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Lahore Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Zaman, Punjab acting Governor Rana Iqbal, IGP Mushtaq Sukhera and diplomats attended the ceremony.
“This war is the war of the whole nation. We have to rid of the menace of terrorism. By sacrificing their lives the Peshawar schoolchildren have strengthened our resolve to eliminate terrorism from our soil. We will not rest till the last terrorist is eliminated,” the premier said.
In his address, Gen Raheel Sharif said the army was committed to enhancing the capacity of all law-enforcement agencies.
“The army is fully committed to enhancing the capacity of all law-enforcement agencies in the country. The army has also greatly improved its capacity of training and the scope of this will be extended to the whole nation,” he said.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the resolve and unity shown by all national institutions in the war against terrorism.
He said the martyrs had set an example by sacrificing their lives that would prove to be a beacon for the nation. He condemned the terrorist attack in Shikarpur. “The incident has saddened the whole nation.”
He said the strength of CTF would be increased to thousands as such steps were part of the National Action Plan. “The army chief and I will visit Karachi and Quetta and ask them to set up such a force.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, a total of 421 corporals, including 16 women, have completed their training course of nine months. A total of 1,182 corporals are being trained by the master trainers of the SSG and a police contingent from Turkey.

It is Some thing like cleaning Mosquito. You are attempting to clean the mosquitos but unless until you try to cut the source of ditch or clean the ditch you will never clear the mosquitoes. Here Hate speech, Source of weapons, Source of funding are the areas to be addressed. Instead you are carrying operations on militants and it will never stop. Today an X and tomorrow an Y. Well Mr PM it is a bit taxing. You need to work and ensure accountability, (including of your favourate ministers) justice for all, corruption and nepotism free society. Otherwise terrorism won't be defeated.

Great work...Mr. PM...it would be also wonderful if you also take upon yourself to start a nationwide campaign and create an "elite task force" with extra ordinary powers to rid the country of corruption, racism and nepotism...these are the core internal issues and because of them the country is facing imminent socioeconomic collapse...direct consequence of these issues is hopelessness, sense of deprivation and extremism...which places undue pressure on law enforcement agencies as well as our armed forces...trade, investment and tourism all of them depend "only" on the security environment of a country...

Mr PM, thats what the govt shud have been doing long b4. Terrorism in pakistan is the result of support & sympathy for sponsoring terrorism for years.. too many innocent lives hv been lost, those lives will never forgive those who support & sponsor terrorism. So yr statement to eliminate the last terrorist is welcome, but that means to eliminate Sayed Hafiz, dawood ibrahim, Jangvi etc. But if u still keep supporting & sympathise with such terrorist, then tht means u just bluffing & befooling innocent public. So show yr resolve & commitment & rid pakistan from terrorism. If u succeed in eliminating & making the country peaceful to live, then tht would be a great tribute to all those innocent lives, that have been lost.

Basic of Rule, rule bind with law. Laws with ethics that every cause behind them treats like single eyes. Matter mighty put up ruling parties because ignoring these alarming issues. They are same way jest for implementation and derail for public's vows when gruesome act happen. May be some limitation but tenure must repeal for another time elected. I am personally appreciate for small leap for countering anti social theme but suspicious always for physical implementations

Nation will win war against terror only if he first stops going to Saudi Arabia to get endorsements and raise money for religious seminaries in Pakistan. This man who lived in Jedda, Saudi Arabia during his exile is a big joke for Pakistan. Thousands of Shias are killed through suicide bombing in Imambaraghs across, and this man says nothing against TTP and terrorists who perpetrate these heinous crimes against humanity and then he expects Pakistan to wage war against the same- what a joke?

This forum 'Dawn' can be used to lessen the trust deficit, hate and venom, stereotyped notions that exists between the two nations, created by common enemies.

Talking of military men and discipline, just look at some of the picture of Republic day parade,India, with Obama as a guest, and look at the military men standing there, dozens of them, their eyes following Obama, a few of them looking straight, doesn't gives a very good impression.

a. It carried out genocide of Muslims and rewarded the main culprit by making him its Prime Minister.
b. Terrorists of the Indian ruling party carried out forced mass conversions of Muslims and Christians, so called "Ghar Wapsi (home return)" slogan not bring condemned.
c. Hindu extremists burned Muslims to death in this peace loving country.

e. Indian consulates in Afghanistan facilitate RAW to ignite fire of terrorism in Baluchistan.
f. Indian atrocities against Sikhs, etc. etc.
