LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan has said his rival politicians either depend on the support of establishment or use the money they earned “unlawfully” to compete with him.

“I am in competition with those politicians who play with establishment’s support or sometime use their power of wealth for committing rigging to come into power. But they don’t know that they are fighting with a sportsman like me, who never gets tired or accepts defeat at any stage,” the PTI chairman said addressing, through a video-link, a gathering arranged by his party’s sports and cultural wing here on Saturday.

He said corrupt politicians should at least understand that a “champion”, who never accepted defeat, always learned from the mistakes he made and they had no courage to compete with him.

Sees “ill-gotten wealth or establishment” behind his rivals

He said a sportsman always had a capacity to face challenges till last breath owing to his training and skills, whereas a politician didn’t have such stamina. “So the PTI is the only party that will introduce a corruption-free system by ending all bad practices that damaged this country,” he added.

About democratic system in India, he said it was working there, adding that Pakistan presented a totally different picture of the system.

“Changing oneself first is the key to success as evident in India. So we have to change ourselves on individual basis if we all want this country to be on road to prosperity,” he said, pledging the PTI would introduce a corruption-free system in the country.
