UMERKOT: Three children, aged three to five, died and five members of a family were saved by doctors after they consumed what appeared to be ‘poisonous’ tea at their home in Samaro town on Wednesday.

Residents of Atta Mohammed Palli village, located near Cheema Farms, said that a couple, their four children and a girl living next door were rushed to the Samaro Taluka Hospital after all of them fell unconscious. Doctors at the hospital examined them and referred three of them, Malji, 5 and Haresh, 3, sons of Lachhman Kolhi, and Rajni, 4, daughter of Hari Ram, to the Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad due to their serious condition. The three children, however, died during treatment. The condition of Mr Kolhi, his wife and their three other sons was stated to be out of danger at the taluka hospital.
