Nawabshah roads

Published January 26, 2015

IN Nawabshah Town, streets have started narrowing during the day due to encroachments, construction of unauthorised structures and extending the front space of shops.

The shopkeepers extend their shops illegally to most roads, including Market Road No. 1 and 2, Phatak Road, Masjid Road, Kutchery Road, Chakra Bazaar and Station Road.

Shopkeepers have allowed hawkers and pushcart owners to sell their goods in front of their shops and charge them Rs300 a day, making it extremely difficult for pedestrians and shoppers to move around.

On Kutchery Road, stamp and photostat vendors and notary public have illegally set up their sheds.

The district administration should shift the notary public, and stamp and photostat vendors to the Civil Court’s premises and demolish all illegal structures set up by shopkeepers outside their outlets.
