MIRPURKHAS, Sept 17: A team of foreign doctors arrived here on Wednesday to examine the situation arising out due to growing cases of malaria in Mirpurkhas.

The director, Malaria Control, Muzaffar Abbasi, and an expert doctor of Egypt were also part of the team.

The team met with the DCO, Mirpurkhas, Mohammad Siddique Memon; the EDO, health, Mirpurkhas, Dr Fazal Elahi Yousfani, and others.

It was briefed about the malaria situation, preventive measures and treatment.

The team visited different areas of the district and met people affected by malaria.

After the heavy rains and due to standing rainwater, there was a sharp increase in cases of malaria in some parts of the district.—Correspondent
