LAHORE, Sept 16: A six-member delegation of the Indian Olympic Association (IOC) will arrive in Pakistan through Wagah Border (Lahore) on Wednesday to attend the extra-ordinary meeting of the South Asia Sports Federation (SASF) to be held on Thursday to decide the fate of the thrice postponed ninth SAF Games.

POA and SASF officials will receive the Indian delegation which is headed by IOC president Suresh Kalmadi.

However Kalmadi who is also the president of the Asian Athletic Federation (AHF) will not be able to attend the SASF meeting as he has to chair a meeting of AHF in Manila, The Philippines on Friday.

He will therefore leave Pakistan on Thursday morning. The other members of the Indian delegation are IOC secretary Raja Randhir Singh, who is also the secretary of the Olympic Council of Asia, A.K. Matto, Mohammad Aslam Khan and B.S Ojha, the three vice-presidents of IOC, and Sandeep Mehla the C.P.R.O IOC.

The other delegates are from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Maldives.

Latif said that there was one-point agenda to be discussed and that was the ninth SAF Games.

POA president Syed Wajid Ali Shah who is also the president of SASF will preside over the meeting. Chairman ninth SAF Games Lt.Gen. Syed Arif Hassan will also attend the meeting and highlight related arrangements of the Games.

He said that POA geared-up its efforts to call an extra-ordinary meeting after the federal government gave it a green signal to get back the Games.

Afghanistan: Abdul Saboor Azizi (representative of Afghanistan Olympic Committee).

Bangladesh: Zafar Imam (secretary-general Bangladesh Olympic Committee).

Bhutan: D.K Chhetri (secretary General, Bhutan Olympic committee).

India: Suresh Kalmadi (president, IOC), Raja Randhir Singh (secretary IOC), B.s Ojha (vice-president IOC), A.K Matto (vice president IOC), Sandeep Mehta (C.P.R.O IOC).

Maldives: Mohammad Zahir Naseer (president Maldives Olympic Committee).

Nepal: Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan (secretary Nepal Olympic Committee), Bishnu Gopal Shreshtra (executive member, Nepal Olympic Committee).

Sri Lanka: Cdr H.U Silva (secretary Sri Lanka Olympic committee), Reza Latif (treasurer, Sri Lanka Olympic Committee).

Pakistan: Khawaja Farooq Saeed (vice-president POA), Syed Aqil Shah (associate secretary POA), Ahsan Alam (executive member POA).
